What Should I Read Next?

All right. I have about eleventy twenty thousand un-read books. So here are ten I’ve selected at random. What should I read next? I’ll read whatever gets the most votes!

  1. A Great Deliverance by Elizabeth George
  2. The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett
  3. Gentleman and Players by Joanne Harris
  4. Getting Over It by Anna Maxted
  5. Lucia, Lucia by Adriana Trigiani
  6. Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
  7. The Third Sister by Julia Barrett
  8. March by Geraldine Brooks
  9. I am the Messenger by Marcus Zusak
  10. One Big Damn Puzzler by John Harding

GO!

  1. March or Gentlemen & Players! I loved both. :) If you read I Am the Messenger, let me know how that is; I have it but haven’t read it.

  2. Interpreter of Maladies

  3. Either Dashiell Hammett (because I am interested to know what you think of his writing) or Markus Zusak (because he is fabulous!)

  4. None of those have an author that’s last name starts with “J”…

  5. I vote “I am the Messenger” because I am selfish, and I want someone else to see if it holds up to “The Book Thief” which is so amazing. I want someone else to tell me if they’re disappointed or not. ;)

  6. Can I just say what “NOT” to read next?
March….I read it a few years back and was SOOOO disappointed. Little Women is one of my favorite books ever and March just totally tried to sully the whole Little Women experience. I can’t even tell you. I’m not saying “NEVER” read it but I will be so shocked if you like it. I’m sad just remembering the bitter disappointment I experienced. Blurgh!

  7. Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri

  8. The thin man. I own it, haven’t read it, but the movies are AMAZING!

  9. Looks like The Thin Man it is! Thanks everyone for voting!

  10. I vote for “The Bell Jar” since you STILL have not read it…
