Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-Thon! Tomorrow!

I’ve been meaning to post about this for ages, and I’m just about out of time. Dewey’s 24-hour read-a-thon is tomorrow! I’ve never participated in a read-a-thon like this before, because I am always busy, busy, busy. But tomorrow I’m only a wee bit busy, so I decided I’d participate, in a loosey-goosey sort of way.

The read-a-thon starts at 5:00am here (ha), but I think I’ll just sleep until I wake up. I have church on Friday nights and it tends to go late, and I don’t want to start the read-a-thon on only a few hours of sleep. Then I’ll have some breakfast and read for a while. Then at 9:00 I have karate class, so I’ll go to that. I might hit Starbucks and read there after that, then grab some lunch. At 4:00pm I have Tough Mudder training, which I definitely want to attend, so that will be my second break of the day. Then I’ll head home, take a shower (because I’ll be covered in mud), eat some dinner, read some more, and probably go to bed at a decent hour (midnight?), because I am not a robot and I have a hard time staying up late.

I’ll probably post a handful of blogs tomorrow, tracking my progress. A mini challenge? Perhaps! Might tweet a bit as well and watch my RSS feed for other bloggers participating in the read-a-thon.

Doesn’t that sound like a lovely day? It’s not too late to sign up! Join me by sticking your nose in a book for 24 hours. Life doesn’t get much better than that!

  1. It’s my first time, too! Glad you’ll be participating with me! I’m definitely not going to be hardcore about it, either, but it should be a ton of fun!

  2. There is no way I would be up at 5am either! The readathon starts at 8am for me, and most likely I will be up around that time.

  3. that sounds lovely in so many ways. There is no way my 3 year old and 11 month old would allow me to read for 24 hours. maybe when I’m dead.

    • One of these days, far in the future, your kids will be off getting Nobel prizes and saving orphans — then you can take 24 hours and read. :)

  5. I hope you are enjoying the read-a-thon. I love an excuse to read all day!

  6. How’s the readathoning going?? Hope you’re having a truly FANTABULOUS day so far!

    Give me an A
    Give me a D

  7. PS–your blog title cracks me up. I almost tweeted about it when I popped over and saw it was a grammatical thing. Yes, commas are important! ;)

  8. I did the same thing as Trish when I saw the name of your blog on the sign up page! Hope you’re enjoying your day of reading!

  9. My readathon start time was 5am too, but I was up at 8. That’s early enough for a Saturday! Nice to find another WP book blog by the way, and I also love your blog name.

    The more that you read,
the more things you will know.
    The more that you learn,
    the more places you’ll go.

Cheering you on from #cheercookie. Hope your read-a-thon is going great!
