[CULTIVATE] PATIENCE: This month’s song + giveaway!

I’ve been MIA for a couple days — life was just more important than blogging for a bit!

If you follow me on Twitter or FB, you’ll know that my Aunt Bonnie (basically my “other mom”) had a heart attack this week and went through surgery. Talk about a test of my patience — it was a moment-by-moment decision not to give into the bad thoughts and the what-ifs. A struggle, but I’m happy to say that for the most part I was able to pray and give my anxiety to God. (Mostly.) Thankfully, she’s doing really well and I truly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that my online world has offered up for her.

But now back to my [CULTIVATE] project. This month I’m giving away a song from my current favorite band, NEEDTOBREATHE. I’ve been listening to them so much lately and I can’t get over how much I love their stuff. I find it inspiring and uplifting but in a raw and gritty sort of way. They are coming to Davis, CA in October and I will SO BE THERE.

The song is “Something Beautiful” (listen to it here). I love how it almost begs God for “something beautiful.” It’s a song about longing for more.
