[CULTIVATE] PATIENCE: Keep a list of things I love about right now

Most of my action items this month so far have focused on patience in the short term — watching my temper and not getting exasperated, for example. But there’s also a longer form of patience. The patience that says some day.

Like pretty much everyone (especially women), I am always thinking about the future. I find myself endlessly day dreaming about times other than now, waiting for whatever life might bring my way. While I am actually fairly content with my life as it is, I wish I could focus on it more — love my life for what it is right now, and love my future life later, when it’s my actual life.

I know the concept of keeping a gratitude journal will come during my month of Gratitude, but I’ve been jotting down some of the things I love about right now. Things that truly make me happy and thankful that I am living this life, right here, right now. These are things that may not exist down the road, so I want to recognize and celebrate them now, instead of being so impatient for the future.
