Tomorrow morning (before dawn cracks) I am hopping on a plane to head to Utah for the Sewing Summit! It’s been months and months since I registered to go, and it’s hard to believe it’s finally here. Over the course of the last few months, I’ve become friends with two awesome girls in real life — Rebecca and Janice — and quite a few over the Interwebs — Claire, Laura, Deanna, and Heather come to mind, among countless others with whom I now blog, tweet, and Instagram. It’s been such an amazing few months of prep (I made a zippered pouch, a bag, a name tag) — and now it’s finally here!
Oh! And I made myself a little half-square triangle necklace:
Last night and tonight I’m packing and my stuff is everywhere. Usually I travel in just a backpack (read why here), but I’m not sure I can do it this time! I don’t normally carry several yards of fabric and a bunch of sharp tools with me when I travel, so my normal packing routine is being tested. Also, I feel like I need A Lot Of Outfits. Is this how people feel all the time when they travel? It’s nerve wracking! I still have hope I can do it in either my backpack or a regular carry-on, but I’m just not sure.
I’ll still be posting over the weekend — I have several blogs scheduled — so you won’t miss me too much. (I know, you spend all your time wondering when will Cori post again!?) You can follow the trip on Twitter and Instagram, hashtag #sewingsummit. I’m @letseatgrandpa in both places.
See you on Sunday!

I can totally relate! I’m usually really good about paring down to the bare essentials. But this time was hard. Plus I have to bring my laptop (boo) so that I can access an online quiz I need to take for a class I’m taking this semester. That sucker is heavy!
Boo for quizzes! I took my laptop on a trip to Chicago recently and was so annoyed with its weight that I came back and bought an iPad. :)
