I’m the only one in my family to give hand made presents. I try and find out what the person needs or wants. I’ve made sweaters, t-shirts, nightdresses etc and this year I’m giving a peg bag, a camera case, an apron and a night dress. I love to see people using what I’ve made so there are certain members of my family I don’t give hand made to as they’re not as enamoured with it as the ones I do make for!

Whenever i’ve given a handmade quilt as a gift my loved one’s response made all the hours of work so so so worth it.

I love giving handmade because I personalize the gifts to the recipient by objects that reflect them and their favorite colors. Much more personal than shopping.

Handmade gifts are wonderful to give and receive because the gift goes beyond the present itself. The love, time, personal thought, and care that goes into handmade items are part of the gifts as well. My favorite kinds of handmade gifts are scarves/shawls, earrings, bookmarks, coasters, blankets/quilts, almost anything really. :) What a super collection of crafty shops you have here; great organization & planning of the fair and giveaway!
I love giving handmade gifts because it comes from the heart and shows they are worth my time. You are able to personalize the gift much more and give a truly one if a kind item, and usually much more budget friendly. Plus I hate shopping more and more these days! Lol! My faves are sewn items.

I think handmade gifts are so full of the giver. When you make it yourself, you put your self into the project. I enjoy giving quilts and bags the most so far.
I like to give handmade gifts because I feel it brings me closer to the giftee! It shows I’ve spent time thinking about them, their style, their personality, etc. We live in Wine Country so I like to give a nice bottle in a handmade wine tote. I love giving hand made gifts! This year, I have already made a messenger bag for my niece for Christmas and have a pair of pajama pants cut out. I am also going to make a quilt for my sister in law. I make hand dipped chocolates too for gifts! I love seeing the look on someone’s face when they realize you took the time to make something special for them.

Handmade – means made by the hands of the giver – with “premeditated” thoughtfulness. We usually give what we really know the receiver will just love – and we would love – so it’s a struggle sometimes to let it go. Ah – thanks for the chance to win such goodies.

Thanks for the great giveaway! I love giving handmade, but I normally don’t think of it until December. By then I am way too busy. Hopefully this year will be better, but so far I am not doing any better!

I love giving handmade because most of the people I give to really appreciate the time & effort that goes into handmade. I love receiving handmade for the same reason. I am trying to shop small and local where possible this year. Big box stores with crap from overseas just doesn’t do it for me for the most part.
I’ve picked up a family homemade gift-giving tradition. I’ve given baked goods for years, but now I’ve inherited my grandfather’s holiday candy tradition. Candy is gifted in handmade fabric bags. Occasionally, I think of gifting other handmade items, but I seem to rarely plan enough in advance for it to happen! Thanks for the giveaway!
