I had all sorts of plans to sew and blog this weekend, but instead, Ryan and I got ENGAGED! So everything went out the window while I floated around on a cloud of happiness and unicorns and Pinterest. YAY!
He proposed at the Top of the Mark restaurant in San Francisco, and even though it was a fancy dinner in a fancy restaurant with a stunning view, I was truly surprised — a) I didn’t think he had a ring on him, b) I didn’t think he had talked to my dad (apparently my dad and mom can play it much cooler than I expected), c) I thought he’d probably wait until April (for a variety of reasons), and d) he didn’t act weird all day. At all.
So basically I’d put it out of my mind. But at the end of dinner, he gave me a Valentine’s Day card and the (too-perfect-for-words) ring was inside! I was so shocked I didn’t even see him get down on one knee and then he said some amazing, lovely things and I made some sort of affirmative joyful, tearful squeak that meant yes, yes, yes!
I’m so ready to begin life’s adventure together! I sure do love this guy.
I don’t think I ever ACTUALLY said yes when my (now) husband proposed. Mostly I nodded and cried. Your ring is gorgeous!
