Review Policy
I love receiving review copies and ARCs from publishers and authors. Here is my policy regarding my reviews:
I’m interested in reviewing:
- General and literary fiction
- Christian fiction
- YA fiction
- Chick lit
- Historical fiction
- Mysteries (but no thrillers or horror)
- Short story collections
- Nonfiction, especially memoir, travelogues, and Christian
What I don’t read:
- E-books (I do not have an e-reader)
- Romance novels and erotica
- Horrors or thrillers
- True crime
- Political books
- Self-help
- Poetry
There are exceptions, so when in doubt, ask. Submit all review requests to cori[at]letseatgrandpa[dot]com. Please give as much information about the book as possible in your request — the more information available, the more likely I am to review the book.
I do not sell or trade ARCs, but I reserve the right to do blog giveaways from time to time, unless you specifically request otherwise.
While I appreciate the free book, it does not guarantee that I will give it a favorable review. If I have not enjoyed a book, I will try and point out specific examples of why the book didn’t appeal to me, so that my readers can make an informed decision. My thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own. If I request a book from you, I will do my best to finish it in a timely manner, but I do reserve the right not to finish it (this is very rare). If you need the review published before or after a specific date, please make that clear in your request.
When applicable, I will link to the author and publisher’s websites, as well as Twitter and Facebook, in my review. In addition to my blog, I will post reviews on goodreads.com and librarything.com, as well as Amazon or other sites if you request (within limits). I will also link to other blog reviews of the book. I will also usually link to the review through my Twitter account.
Giveaway Policy
Here are my standard rules for giveaways:
To enter a giveaway, Fill in the information asked for in the giveaway post’s form. I will use random.org to select the winner, and then contact that person through email for a mailing address. All mailing addresses will be destroyed after the book has been shipped.
My giveaways on this blog are US only, because I can’t afford to be shipping books all across this great Earth of ours. Books will be shipped media mail, so please be patient with the US Postal Service.
If I have not heard back from you within five days of emailing after you have won a book, I will choose another winner in your place.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions! Good luck!
